Early Christmas

Maybe we were cheating just a bit... Cole was super excited about his new basketball hoop.
The new Shrek movie of course!
Toy Story Memory. We played the "19 month old" version tonight and he did really well.
Catching butterflies from the Elefun game.
I thought this was funny - we have the same expression on our faces :)
Stocking Time...a new musical toothbrush...that annoyed Dan and I after about 2 minutes.
Christmas Peeps!
Eating the Christmas loot - don't worry, he ate dinner too!
A sweaty little boy with lots of Christmas candy all over his face...
still totally kissable in my opinion.
We decided to have an early Christmas at our house tonight. We are heading to the lake and then spending Christmas Eve at the Gaylord Texan, so Dan and I decided to let Cole open our presents tonight. We just bought him a few things that we thought he might enjoy. When he walked in the door and saw the basketball hoop, he made a mad dash to it - screaming in delight the entire way. It was fun watching him actually enjoy his gifts as we opened them tonight. Another wonderful night with my boys - and my girl - she was kicking all over the place when Cole was playing with his new toys. She moves a lot when she hears Cole...I hope that excitement continues, along with all of these wonderful memories.

Shake That Laffy Taffy

His new favorite spot in the house. A yard of Taffy and a yard of Cole. Let the dumping begin...
Which one first???
The one thing I have craved since I found out I was pregnant was taffy...I don't know why, but I NEEEEEEED it. One of my wonderful co-workers brought a yard of taffy to me for Christmas...just the sugar high I need for the holidays :) I brought in a box from my car today and forgot that was in it. Cole quickly found the yard of taffy and had fun dumping it all over the living room and then "singing" into the empty tube. He ate a piece of it, but had way more fun playing with the empty tube than actually eating the candy...for now.

Crafting, Crafting, Crafting

Dan was so excited to help me :)
We rented a booth at the RES Breakfast With Santa to sell some cute clipboards that I made. I sold about $200 worth, so I am excited about that. I still have many left over and lots of supplies to make more in the future...maybe :)

"Snow" Day in the Hood

Don't tell Nana and PopPop, but we gave him his Christmas present from them early...he loves it! The snow day was right around the corner from our house, so we just cruised on over. Sweet smile!
Lots of fun when I'm with Dad!
My first solo attempt...
Crash landing...
Snowball fight!
Cole kept falling on purpose while saying, "Whoa, whoa, whoa" the entire time (and laughing of course).
Hi Mom!
Teravista had it's annual snow day yesterday. Cole loved it. Dan took him down the first time and he started dragging the sled back up the hill again. He went down with Daddy twice and then we sent him on his own. He wiped out about half way down the hill but wanted to go again. He loved making little snowballs and throwing them at the other kids (and at us). I have a few more pictures to post, but we decided to use them for our Christmas card. I am waiting to post them so they will be a surprise to his family. I am so glad we get to do things like this with Cole - I know he will not remember the fun, but I sure will remember those big smiles.

Dreaming of a White...Thanksgiving???

What is that Daddy? Cole ran to the door and said, "Door" over and over, which means let me outside you silly people in Cole language...so we did...for a few minutes.
This is how it looked when it was finished snowing on Thanksgiving morning. It didn't last long, but it was neat to see.
Cole wearing his dressy clothes to dinner - that he didn't eat because every single time he walked by someone, they gave him a cookie.
Watching cartoons with PopPop...great way to end the night.
We spent the Thanksgiving Holidays in Philadelphia this year. It is always strange being away from your own family and family traditions during the holiday season, but I know it was VERY important to my husband to take Cole to his home town and spend a little time with his family. So much so that Dan took Cole by himself for the first few days - an active 18 month old on a flight with no mommy help...brave man. I was VERY proud of him and VERY thankful that Cole was a model passenger.
Now...almost time for Christmas present shopping for Cole and baby girl everything shopping for Beamer...how is that possible?

Grateful

Sometimes a day that makes you a bit sad, makes you think. I am very grateful for my mom and my dad...God certainly did not make two better people. I am very grateful for my husband. He just "gets" me - sometimes that is good, sometimes that is bad :) I am grateful for my son. Even on tough days, where he clings to my legs as I try to do just about anything, I am grateful for his big laugh and big smile. I am grateful for Beamer, girl, boy....I don't even care - just happy and healthy like Cole. I am grateful for my life.
I do think of our daughter and wonder what she would be like, but I am grateful for what we have and grateful for what our future holds for us.
Happy "almost" 2nd birthday Brynn!

Pumpkin Carving

Starting the dig... All he wanted to do was get them off of my fingers.
Gross!
What in the world is this stuff?
Oh look a seed!
BTW, where is the pumpkin?
"Bye Bye TunTin!"
We carved a pumpkin tonight (Dan used his electric saw). Every time a took a big handful of seeds and guts out of the pumpkin, he just swatted it all out of my hand. He kept wiping his hands on his shirt and brushing the seeds on the ground. Cole was more interested in stirring the seeds with the big spoons and smashing seeds with the big, rubber mallet. Oh well, maybe next year :)

Carnival Time With MY Boys!

Such a happy boy! Pure Joy!
Cole was suppose to kick the ball in the net, but he didn't quite understand, so he just threw the balls in the net...so they gave him a prize :)
I had to carry him away so he didn't pick more than one lollipop.
Liked splashing the water most!
Our NO FEAR son climbed up a playscape and slid down the 10 foot swirly slide on his own.
Dinosaur Dig...he tried to climb in the sandbox!
Was more interested in the fish cut-outs than doing the actually fishing.
Today was our first RES carnival - lots of fun, lots of kids, lots of tired adults (especially me). I went early to help set up and Dan brought Cole around 10:00. My boys and I played until about 11:00, then ate lunch (Cole's lunch pretty much consisted of chips dipped in ketchup, not worth the battle today). After lunch they headed home where Cole preceded to take a 2 1/2 hour nap. Thank goodness for a good sleeper! I came home around 4:00 and we played some more. We even ended the day with some snuggling on the couch. Love my boys...love, love, love my boys! It certainly would be OK with me if we had some more testosterone in the Walker household - we shall see!

Fish Out of Water

Does anyone else's kid end up IN the water table when they are suppose to just splash around in it??? Just wondering if Cole is special???
