TEN Months And Counting!!!

Sweet Baby Girl is ten months old. Almost a year old...that is sooooo crazy! She now has two top teeth in addition to her to bottom teeth. She refuses to eat ANY baby food since getting a taste of the "real" stuff. She pretty much eats whatever we cook for dinner or what we give Cole for breakfast and/or lunch. She loves her sippy cup. She drinks about 3-4 bottles a day...but we are going to start putting her morning bottle in a sippy cup to slowly transition her to NO bottles. The fun part of Blake is watching her try to keep up with her brother. This week she has started fighting back. When Cole was "wrestling" with us, she started pushing him and yelling at him. I don't think she is going to be a pushover to say the least.

Blake likes to:

Take a bath every single night, pull-up on everything, crawl really fast when she sees something she wants, search the floor for anything to put in her mouth, play with her stuffed animals, watch the dogs out of the window, clap her hands (sometimes), and dance (when she is on her knees and I sing, "Dance, Dance, Dance".

AND SHE STILL LOVES BIG BOWS...

That look scares me a bit :)

I saw a similar idea on Pinterest and just had to try it with Blake. She thought throwing the letters on the floor was a lot of fun...especially when Cole would laugh (he was my assistant for this photo shoot). The pictures turned out cute, so it was worth the effort wrestling both kids while trying to take the pictures. These photos will find a special place in our new house for sure!

NINE Months And Counting!!!

Little Miss Priss is Nine Months Old! She is just an absolute dream. We thought Cole was a really good baby, but Blake is just the sweetest, happiest little girl. She is such a perfect addition to our family! She is still a fabulous sleeper - I even have her on a great nap schedule now. She sleeps from 7pm to 6:30am each night without waking and she takes a two hour nap in the morning and about an hour and a half nap in the afternoon. She is VERY determined to do what her brother does...or at least get what he has - which creates lots of "drama" in the house. She is crawling on her knees now (she was a combat crawler for a while). She also is pulling up on everything, chairs, doors, your legs, Cole's big toys...whatever is near and she can get too.

Blake likes to:
Listen to ANY type of music, watch Mickey Mouse Club with her brother in the morning, eat "real" food like pancakes, waffles, tortillas, peas, pasta, chicken, just about anything we give her in small bites, talk to the dogs at the back window, talk, talk, talk (mostly dadadadada), drink from her sippy cup (or Cole's if he leaves it in her reach), and go in the car for little trips (she is a good car rider so far).

AND SHE STILL LOVES BIG BOWS...in fact she lowered herself to the floor (with my guiding hand) to get a different bow...see I told you!

It was actually nice enough to take the kids outside this afternoon...windy, but nice and warm...can't wait for Spring (BTW...I did not say 100+ degree weather).

Grapevine Mills Mall...TAKE 2

We took a day trip to the Grapevine Mills Mall today. We went this summer to Legoland...but we wanted to check out the aquarium today...YES, an aquarium in the mall. We had a great time. We went early (since my kids think 6:15am is the perfect time to wake up each day) and there was no line. Cole talked about the sharks and "Nemo and Dorrie" all day.

Then she decided to start "kissing" them...

We tell Cole if he makes good choices all day he can have a treat from the candy store.

He ALWAYS picks Sixlets.

Christmas Eve Eve

Our family decided to celebrate Christmas a day early this year (we usually open all gifts on Christmas Eve) so my dad, brother, and nephew could go to the ranch and hunt one last time in 2011. We started the day off at the movies - Chipmunks - Chipwrecked. Cole loved it! He yelled, "Alvin" the entire time and danced when the Chipmunks sang. Blake went too! I would not usually take an 8 month old to a movie, but all adults were there ready to help if she had a meltdown :) However, she did not. She was probably the best behaved kid in the theater. She ate puffs, sang, drank a bottle, and watched the movie. We were all pleasantly surprised for sure. After the movie we went to BABE'S and ate dinner then headed home because Santa Clause came to visit. Cole really got into unwrapping the gifts. We wrapped all of his in green CARS paper, so he figured out to find his paper and then tear into it. He would look at what he got and then ask me to open it. When I told him that we would open the boxes when we were all done, he started unwrapping the gifts, looking at them, shaking them, and then tossing them into his big pile...hilarious! He now tells everyone that, "Santa brings presents." Blake was pretty worn out from the day and way more interested in eating the paper than playing with her toys.

Dan and I stayed at the lake house instead of going to the ranch. The kids are both taking naps and we are attempting to clean up the living room!

EIGHT Months And Counting!!!

Our sweet Blakelee is EIGHT months old today. These past few months have gone by in a blur - we have moved and I have resigned my postition to be a temporary Stay At Home Mom while I am on the hunt for a job. Blake is as sweet as ever. She is a good sleeper, good eater, and loves to bother her brother as much as possible. She is combat crawling all over the place, but not on all fours...she gets up on all fours, rocks, and then launches herself onto the floor to combat crawl. She finally has TWO bottom teeth. They came in two days apart (just like her brother, but 2 months later).

Blake likes to:
Sing, laugh, eat EVERYTHING (including "real" food like - pancakes, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and even a french fry or two), play music on her mini-piano or karaoke "machine", sit in her highchair and eat puffs and melts, chase the dog, chase her brother, fake cough, pull my hair, play with her babies, and read her books.

AND SHE STILL LOVES BIG BOWS..O.K, not really...she is now pulling them off when she can!

And her photo shoots are not so easy any more either!

Dan and I took the kids to the Fossil Rim Drive Through Zoo today in Glen Rose (about 25 minutes from my parent's house). The weather was great, so all of the animals were out ready for Cole to feed them some snacks! Cole kept saying, "I happy" while we fed the animals. Blake was more interested in her Puffs and my sunglasses...but both were pretty happy kiddos today!

SEVEN Months And Counting!!!

Please oh please stop this fast train...I can't believe B is seven months old. This month has just flown by - she is over 21 pounds now and had her first bout of sickness (a really bad cold that ended up in her chest). She was NOT her happy self last week, thank goodness she is 100% again! She is about to move into 18 month clothes...but not quite yet. STILL NO TEETH. I can see the bud of one on her bottom left side, but it just will not break through. I try to rub it, but she wants nothing to do with that. When she was really congested, she was having a hard time sucking her thumb, so she started rubbing her own hair, and now mine. When I hold her and she is really tired, she sucks her thumb and pulls on the hair on my left side...it is so sweet. She is sleeping from 6:45pm until I wake her at 5:45am to get ready for the day. We are starting her on a more regular nap schedule during the day and it is working like a champ. She is taking a morning and afternoon nap - both about hour and half. She sometimes needs a late cat nap around 4:30, so she will sleep for a bit on the car ride home from Debra's. She still wakes up happy and she still is very talkative. She loves all of her veggies and fruits so far...in fact, most days she will ditch the bottle in order to eat her solids.

Blake likes to:
Sing, clap her hands on your hands, play with her toys, roll and scootch all over the place, annoy her brother by trying to eat his toes or pull his hair, play in her saucer and jump even though it is not a jumpy, brush her teeth with her new toothbrush (her favorite toy as of late), and sit up and play with her big bead box.

AND she still LOVES BIG BOWS!!!

"Sissy's Sick...I Hulp"

Cole has been VERY concerned that Sissy has been sick. He does not like it when we do treatments on her and has talked a lot about the doctor. He gave Dan and I a lot of pretend shots this weekend - usually in the middle of the forehead. He kisses me on the cheek at night and says, "Cuz mommy sick." I don't want to spread my strep throat germs to him.

Tonight Blake was doing her new night time routine of trying to eat "Pupps" - she usually gets about 1/10 in her mouth, so when I looked over - Cole was helping her. I grabbed the camera and asked what he was doing and he said, "Sissy sick, I hulp". My Big Boy and Sick Little Girl - LOVE them...snot and all!

This year, Cole had a bit of say in his costume. I showed him a catalog and we flipped through the pages. When he saw the dinosaur costume, he got VERY excited (he also got excited when he saw the CARS costume...but I still have MORE say for now). I saw the little pink poodle costume and HAD to have it for Blake. I was so pleased with both costumes...and both kids :) Cole loved dressing up...so much so that I am buying some more "discounted" costumes to put in a dress-up box for Christmas. So much fun!!!

It is hard for me to believe Blake is six months old and now...sitting up by herself. I felt Cole did things on the early side of the "normal" range...but Blake is just trying to out do her brother every single day. I think it is different with girls and I think it is different when you have a VERY active two year old brother that you just want to keep up with. Such a BIG girl!

Our little Blakey (which is what we are tending to call her right now - or Bake if your are Cole) is not so little anymore. She weighs 20 lbs 12 oz and is 27 1/2 inches long...97%+...To give you a bit of perspective, she is a big girl, but still almost 3 pounds less and 1 inch shorter than Cole was at 6 months old. She is in size 12 month/12-18 month clothes. Her eyes are a greenish-brown color these days and she still has NO teeth...but the doctor said that she will be getting several any day now...drool is everywhere. She is sleeping from about 7:00pm until 5:30am 6/7 nights a week - which is perfect for our crazy work week schedule...not so much for the weekend, except she goes back to sleep until after 7am if she wakes and drinks a bottle. Blake is just a happy girl. I can't really describe her in any other way. She doesn't really get upset unless she is hungry or tired. She talks a lot and loves to watch her family and friends - she is a bit of a busy body for sure!

Blake likes to:
Sing and talk all of the time, smile and laugh out loud for the silliest reasons, roll all over the floor and scooch to get to something she wants (it is not crawling yet, but somehow she gets to where she wants to go), brush her "teeth", eat her veggies (not green beans so much, unless we have something yummy mixed in with them), play with her doggy and monkey, play in her saucer, and try to sit up on her own. She is getting so strong and wants to keep up with her brother so badly, I see the days of movin' and grovin' coming soon.

Look Who Carried in the Groceries???

Cole helped me carry in the groceries tonight and as I was feeding and changing Blake...he helped himself to the strawberries. When he saw that I got the camera out, he yelled, "Wait, get dinosaur hat" - I guess he felt the need to "dress-up" for the occasion. I love that boy with every inch of my heart!

Blake didn't want Cole to get all of the attention - so she had a bit of fun with her butternut and acorn squash tonight...I need one more hand...just one more!

Dinosaur World

My parents took Cole and Blake to Dinosaur World in Glenn Rose (about 20 minutes from their house in Granbury) this past week. When I got to the lake on Friday night, Cole talked a lot about dinosaurs...ending all of his talk with, "Dinosaur Park pweeeze!" So Dan and I took him to Dinosaur World for the second time in five days. Dan and I couldn't keep up with him. He ran from dinosaur to dinosaur telling me something about each one - BeBe, Mommy, Daddy Dinosaur, big teeth, hide, run, wow, this way...those were some of his favorite words from today. It was a fun little adventure for a Saturday morning.

He was this far ahead of us the entire time.

We have been talking a lot about pumpkins, so I bought a few pumpkin crafts for Cole to do. He actually sat and did the art...I was very surprised. He is now taking a shower because he started painting himself instead of the pumpkins - oh well, he had fun!

A Playscape and A Pickle

Cole wanted a pickle for snack...and he wanted to go outside to play - which we finally could because it was only 85 degrees - YIPPEE! He actually wanted two pickles, one for each hand of course. He ate one and then carried one around the entire time he played. He never did eat it, but he would NOT let me take it from him...hence...a playscape and a pickle!

He likes swinging in the "baby" swing because Daddy can push him really high!

Both of my kids love baths - so much so that Cole asks to take a shower or bath - sometimes in the middle of the day. Dan was giving Miss B a bath and she got out of control, splashing water everywhere. He decided to "protect" himself with a dish towel, that is how badly she was splashing. Look how wet the towel was...she is crazy in the water!

My mom and I spent one weekend making Blake's veggies - sweet potatoes, acorn squash, butternut squash, green beans, peas, and carrots.

Yes, I know it looks gross...but it is pretty yummy!

My mom and I spent the next weekend making her fruits - apples, nectarines, plums, plumcots, peaches, white flesh peaches, and pears.

So far she has eaten (and loved) butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and avocado. This week we are trying green beans...I am not liking our chances with that one :)

Cole somehow figures out to get in on our photo shoots whether he was invited or not (unless I want him to be in the picture and then it is a total two year old meltdown). Today he found an old pacifier, I have no idea where because B has not used one in months (and he never has used one), and climbed in her crib to pretend he was a "BeBe".

FIVE Months And Counting!!!

Our sweet Blake is 5 months old. She might be the best baby ever...yes I know I am a bit bias, but she is really a sweet, very happy little girl. I am sure she will pay us back in her teenage years! Every once in a while her eyes look kind of bluish...but more and more they look green (maybe she will have green eyes like her mama). She is still in 9 month clothes, but about to move into her 12 month clothes this week sometime. She is still sleeping from 7pm to 5am (about 6/7 nights a week)...so I can't complain at all. As long as she finds her thumb, she will soothe herself back to sleep in a few minutes. She rolls to her tummy in the middle of the night and then "forgets" how to roll back over sometimes and gets frustrated.

Blake likes to:
Smile and giggle out loud constantly, talk and sing all of the time (she has a deeper "voice" so it is pretty funny), roll all around the room and stick her little butt in the air like she is trying to crawl, eat cereal, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes so far, play with her toys, "drink" from her sippy cup, chew on everything including our fingers, jump in her jumpy and play in her saucer, watch her brother do everything, and always look to find her Mommy (she doesn't cry when other people hold her, she just looks to make sure I am in the room).

And she still loves BIG BOWS and now even FLUFFY FEATHERS!

My Son...The Hoarder

Our night time routine goes like this:

I put Blake in her bed and turn on her animal mobile, which she loves, and then Cole and I go into his bedroom to read 2-3 books together sitting on his bottom trundle or in his beanbag. I then put him in bed, but leave the light on, so he can read some more. I go feed Blake her bottle and put her to bed. Finally, I go back into Cole's room, shut the light off and cover him with his blankets for the night. He is VERY into taking things to bed with him right now...it doesn't cause any problems, so I let him. Tonight was a bit extreme...he wanted to take 2 dogs, 2 books, Woody, Buzz, a dinosaur, and wear his shoes. So guess what...he did. I ran downstairs to get my camera (which I NEVER put away these days so Daddy can see the kids during the week) and took a picture. Love my little hoarder.

We brought out Cole's Jumpy today and Blake loved it. She started jumping right away (along with some swinging and twirling). I think we have a litte dare-devil on our hands.

FOUR Months And Counting!!!

Our sweet Blakelee is 4 months old. She is such a calm, sweet, content little girl. She is in 9 month clothes now - weighing a whopping 17.6 oz and "standing" 26 1/2 inches long. She is the same length Cole was at this age, but about 1 1/2 pounds less than he was...yet still in the 97+% in both :) She still has some blue in her eyes, but they are turning a bit - sometimes I even see some green like mommy's eyes. On average she sleeps from 7pm-5am every single night - I am LOVING that. Even when she wakes up at 5am to eat, she goes back to sleep until I wake her up to go to Ms. Debra's house. She wakes up happy and even smiles with her eyes closed because the lights are too bright.
Blake likes to:
Play in her saucer, roll over both ways (when she feels like it), swing in her swing, play with toys like rattles and things that make music, talk and sing ALL of the time, giggle out loud, watch her brother do EVERYTHING, have tummy time (for short amounts of time), sit in her Bumbo still, suck her thumb (you can see her war wounds from missing her mouth, even though I trim her nails twice a week), and eat rice cereal.

And she STILL loves BIG BOWS (this time no tears during our pictures)!

We tried cereal tonight...I actually had to text Debra to ask her if she had given her cereal this week because she was so "good" at it. She slurped it off of the spoon and yelled at me when I wasn't quick enough. She even yanked the spoon from me and tried to feed herself. Such a big girl!

This is what Cole was doing while I was trying to feed Blake...I NEED MORE HANDS. Luckily Daddy got home in time to take a few pictures and help him get out (he was stuck).

Potty 101

Once he put the CARS underwear on, he had to go and get his Matchbox Cars.

I LOVE the little bootie crack hanging out...such a boy!!!

I am not pushing the whole potty thing with Cole - he is a boy, a boy with a May birthday (can you tell I am an educator). However, he is becoming VERY interested in the potty as of late. He likes the whole flushing thing and he likes to wash his hands. I bought him a little chair potty and he just carried it around and sat on it in front of the TV. Last week I bought him a CARS little seat to put on the big potty. Without prompting, he has asked to "Sit onda pahtee" every single morning. He doesn't do anything while he is on there, but I make a big deal, do a little dance, give some high fives, and he gets two whole fruit snacks :) Tonight I bought him some CARS boxer briefs and he had his shorts and diaper off in about 2 seconds when I showed them to him. He wore them around the house for about an hour and a half tonight with no accidents. I took them off before we pressed our luck. So we are NOT pushing the whole potty thing, but letting him slowly warm up to the idea of it!!!

Morning Helper

Now that I am on my own in the mornings...I have recruited a new helper.
Cole watches Blake (at least for now while she doesn't move too much) while I finish getting us ready to leave. Today he told her about Special Agent Oso and showed her how his piggy bank worked. It was very sweet...luckily he hasn't tried to pick her up yet and "MOVES" her...as he would say.

Blake is more interested in Oso or the ceiling fan...it is probably a toss up.

I think Blake's look says it all - "Mom...please don't trust brother".

There were two major "cons" on the list of us taking the job in Ft. Worth (and a lot more pros - hence the move :)
1. My job...plain and simple. I love my job, my school, my coworkers, who are my friends, my boss (don't let it go to your head Rebecek), my students, my parents...I don't know if I will ever find another place like RES.
2. Our neighborhood...we live on a cul-de-sac with families full of kids. We sit outside a lot (when it is under the 100 degree mark), we have little cook-outs, and we help each other out - fix a tire, watch a kid, catch an escaped dog, etc.

Hopefully we will find these things once again as we start our new adventure.

THREE Months And Counting

Our sweet BMW is three months old today. It is hard to believe! She is the BEST baby ever...I try to compare her to the only other baby I really know...and she is doing things sooner than Cole did - and he was on the "fast" side of the norms. She is in 6 month clothes and her eyes are still blue...I keep waiting for them to change, but they haven't so far. She eats about every 3-4 hours, except at night. She is now going anywhere from 8-11 hours a night without waking (especially if she finds her thumb). That makes this old, tired Mommy (that is about to head back to work) very happy.
Blake likes to:
Watch her Big Brother play, swing in her swing (even for naps), sit in her Bumbo, suck her thumb, or fist, or fingers, whatever she can get in her mouth, lay on her back and try to grab the things on her little gym, flirt with the person talking to her, and smile, smile, smile. She still does not really like tummy time, so she has figured out how to roll from her belly to her back just to avoid it.

Dan and I decided Cole needed a little special time with his Mommy and Daddy (with no Sissy), so we took him to the Grapevine Mills Mall...not exactly fun for a two year old you would think huh? This mall is an awesome place for kids. We first went to the Lego Discovery Center, then took a train ride through the mall, next was lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe, then a treat from the HUGE candy store, and finally we picked out a special friend from the Build A Bear Store. NOW...a long nap. We had a great day and Cole was such a good boy today. We will go back for sure, we only were able to do about half of the fun things at the mall today.

Nope...they don't really look alike - at least in my opinion. They do seem to have the same double chin and little fat rolls on their arms and legs - haha - but that seems to be about it.

I think Cole looks like his daddy and Blake looks like MY side of the family - not exactly for sure who yet. I have heard me, my dad, my mom, my grandpa, my niece...we shall see.

Dan's parents bought Cole a sand table and sand toys for his 2nd birthday. We kept it "hidden" until they came for a visit so they could give him his birthday present in person. It has been so hot outside, he didn't get a chance to play with it for very long, but I know he will in the near future.

Does anyone else want to try and tell a stubborn, adventurous, two year old boy that you are not suppose to sit IN the sand table????

Dan's Mom and Dad came for a visit this past week. They have 5 grandchildren - all boys except this last little bundle of sweetness. When they walked in the front door, Cole recognized them from the computer (Dan Skypes with them every few weeks). We got so busy, the camera didn't come out too much during the trip...but we did manage to capture a few shots while they were here.

A Family Visit

Andrea and Chris (Dan's sister and her hubby) came down for a visit in mid-June. At the last minute, Dan was able to get the entire time off from his work, so we headed to the lake for the week. We did a whole lot of nothing except swim, play on the wave runners, swim, take a boat ride, swim...there might have been just a few adult beverages involved too. It was nice to see them and I was glad they were able to meet Miss B and get a small dose of Cole (he was in rare naughty form most of their trip). They are already planning their next visit (around hunting season and a trip to Canton).

All this fun makes a girl sleepy...nap time with Aunt Andrea.

TWO Months And Counting

Our sweet BMW turned 2 months old this week. Again, it just goes by so fast. She is a pretty happy little girl - except around 7:00pm every single night. She is 13 pounds nine ounces and 23 1/2 inches long. She has lost a little of her hair and it has lightened up a bit - but there is still a ton of it (and still wavy). Her eyes are still blue...but I am guessing not for much longer.
Blake likes to:
Rock or vibrate in her little chair, watch the mobile in her bed, lean back so far while in your arms to stare at different things in the room, you feel like you might drop her. She loves it when you sing to her or kiss on her neck or lips. She smiles a lot and has started to almost laugh out loud. She talks to you when you coo at her and she loves to snuggle when she is really tired. Blake went to the lake 3 times in the past month and even swam in the pool. It has started getting harder to take her shopping because she wants to get out of her car seat and look around.

And she still loves big bows...

Haha...maybe Mommy still loves big bows...

Shave and a Haircut...

Finally he stopped for one minute to show off his new buzz cut.

I took Cole (without Daddy as backup) to get his official SECOND haircut today. I expected the SAMA techniques to come out again as I "contained" my own child while the man trimmed his hair...but it didn't happen. This time I decided to sit in the chair and let him sit on my lap. The only time he got a little fussy was when the man used the small razor around his ears/neck. He kept saying "Oww, Oww, Oww" even though it did not hurt. He also kept looking on the floor and in the mirror and asking, "Wheredit (yes it is one word in Cole language) go?"...made us laugh. Now I will say that the receptionist gave him 2 lollipops to eat while getting his hair cut, another lady brought him a balloon, and I promised him Skittles if he listened...when you are going into battle you need to bring your guns (or candy, whichever it might be). I guessed at what to put the razor on and said a five all over - I'm a girl...I have no idea what a five really is??? It looked long when he showed it to me on the little picture...but now my son has a true summer haircut. We probably will not use a five next time :) :) :). He is still my handsome boy, just kind of bald again!

So far, Miss Blakelee is a pretty happy baby (unless she is hungry and/or she wants you to hold her and you are not moving fast enough). She is sleeping between 3-4 hours at night before wanting to eat...sometimes even making it 5 hours in that first span of night. She loves baths and she loves it when you talk to her. This morning she was sitting in her little chair while I was getting ready. She was laughing because I was making noises and tickling her feet. Such a sweet girl!

My first onesie attempt. I still need to sew the zigzag lines around it when we go to the lake this weekend (I want to borrow my mom's sewing machine first).

I can't believe our little girl is one month old. She is 10 pounds 8.5 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long. Her cheeks are getting fuller and her thighs and arms are starting to get lots of little rolls.

Blake likes to:

Eat, Sleep, Watch Fish TV, Lift her head up to look at lights, curtains, the fire place (exciting I know), Smile in her sleep and when you kiss her little face, Look in the mirror at herself on her new floor gym, Wear gigantic bows in her hair (OK...that is really me - she doesn't like it so much).

I can't wait to see what the next month brings us!

Blake's Keeper

So far...Cole has been a sweet big brother. He is very protective of her. When other kids try to look at her, he yells, "Mine" and steps in between her and them. He comes and gets me saying, "BeBe cyin" - "Baby Crying", he pats her head, he kisses her all of the time, and even wipes her mouth if she has formula on her face or sneezes. Today he found his old Fish TV in the garage and brought it in to her to watch and this morning he wanted to help with her bath time. Now I am not saying there hasn't been a few moments...he has told her to "Moves" when she is laying on my chest and he has jumped up on the bed or couch and smashed her once or twice...but usually without intent. I know there will be moments of jealousy and frustration as they grow up together, but I sure do hope they always, no matter what, protect and love each other like they seem to do now.

Blake received a MamaRoo for Christmas, before she was even born. I like that it has a lot of different speeds and swings (kangaroo, car ride, etc). It is also small and doesn't take up a ton of space like the big swings, vibrating chairs, etc. So far, she likes it (in small doses) and Cole likes to put things in it, buckle it up, and turn it on. Over the weekend he put his SpongeBob stuffed animal in it and gave him a little ride...better than picking Blake up and putting her in it.

Look at the wavy, dark hair...and the baby fat rolls starting to form. She is just perfect (I know I am mom and I have to say that...but she is just perfect).

We took Cole bowling for the first time today - Dan had a major workout chasing him and trying to help him bowl at the same time. The couple next to us kept telling us how cute and funny he was...and kept asking us if he ever slowed down (which the answer is NOOOO). We had a great time. For dinner we were invited to the neighbor's house for fajitas...we had even more fun. The kids played and we chatted. A good, good day for the Walker family of four!

Cole constantly makes me laugh - sometimes on purpose...sometimes not. These are some things that made me laugh today: 1. I went to change Blake's diaper and this is what I came back to the living room to find...btw, that is my Diet Coke...why in the world would he steal a Diet Coke??? He would not look at me because he knew he should not have my drink. 2. He kept sneaking up on Blake (on the floor crawling) and kissing her. I think her face and his face say it all. I snapped this picture right after he kissed her fingers. Ignore that awful Eagles blanket...I was desperate.

3. I found him in my wallet, taking out all of the change and putting it in his dog bank.

4. He was pointing to Blake's body parts - eyes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth, belly, and decided to add bo-bo and then would fall on the floor laughing like he was the funniest person ever.

5. He dipped his toothbrush in the doggie water and preceded to brush his teeth before I could stop him.

6. He sat on my lap and combed his sissy's wild hair into a crazy mohawk type of creation.

7. He comes up to me and says, "moobie" and then gives me movie kisses which are long, noisy, juicy kisses.

My mom has a tradition of making cookies and dying eggs each year. Cole is still so young, so we didn't go all out on cookies, but he had fun adding sprinkles and "hots" to the ones Mom baked. I think we will be the only ones eating them...I saw a lot of finger licking going on during his baking fun. He also dyed his Easter eggs...more like tossed his eggs in colored water. We had blue dye everywhere...including on us and on the furniture. Needless to say...bath tub time soon followed.

We opened Blake's in the hopes of finding some smaller onsesies...she is so much tinier than we thought she was going to be (thank goodness coming from the mom going through labor). BMW - The only Beamer I Have Ever Wanted...

Well, she is finally here! I checked into the hospital to be "induced" on Monday morning and I was already 5cm - 100 % effaced. We waited until about 10:00 to start the actual pitocin. Once we started the meds and the nurse broke my water, it went by so fast. My contractions started immediately and were 2-3 minutes apart within a few minutes of them starting the meds. They went ahead and did my epidural because I was progressing so quickly... unfortunately, it did not work very well at first, so they came and added some more medicine...which then left me in a really bad state - they added too much! My blood pressure dropped to 67/21 at one point during delivery and they had to give me three shots of something to "bring me back", whatever that means. Dan said I passed out a couple of times. My parents were freaking out and I was only concerned about Blake...she was perfectly fine the entire time. Her heart rate never wavered. It took about 30 minutes of pushing for her to arrive, only because I was pretty much unconscious and couldn't stay awake long enough to push. Oh well, she is here, she is safe, and she is perfect. Now to get that whole day/night thing switched around.

My cul-de-sac crew had a Blakelee Brunch for me today...It was really sweet and really nice to get together with the neighborhood ladies - no hubbies. We had a lot of fun conversation. I love that I live in a neighborhood with wonderful people that help out when needed. Another great way to spend a Saturday morning - now to clean up the Daddy + Cole play time in the livingroom. An OK price to pay to have the time to spend relaxing with my friends.

I bought Cole a little doctor's kit so we could play with it over the next week or so before I checked into the hospital. He doctored me up, but I guess I wasn't good enough, so he moved onto his next "victim".

He spent 20 minutes trying out the Mamaroo...he kept trying to get into it, so I told him to go get Elmo and let him rock...then he got his doctor kit...Poor Elmo (poor Blake :)

He kept giving Elmo shots in the eyeballs.

We found Elmo like this...with the Doctor's pager stuffed in his mouth...oh how I am going to have to truly have eyes on the back of my head :)

Bring On The Warm (not too warm) Weather!

Dan was giving the dogs a bath outside and Cole wanted to see what he was doing...so this is what I found when I came into the kitchen...I pulled the blinds back so he wouldn't ruin them, but this was his idea (after he realized the doggie door was locked).

We spent many hours outside on Saturday - we set up the bounce house, the water table, and a little pool. Our front yard looked like a toddler's dream (a home owner's nightmare). Lots and lots of fun!!!

A Pink, Pink, Pink Sprinkle

My wonderful office staff hosted a Baby Sprinkle for Blake today. She received so many cute outfits, hair bows, diapers, and wipes. I just unpacked everything so Dan can see all of her sweet things when he comes home tonight. I think he is starting to be OK with all of the pink :)

There was a quote on one of her new little outfits (from my first grade team) that said, "I hope that my little girl is a better version of me." A perfectly perfect statement in my opinion.

I love that I spend most of my day with such wonderful, caring people. I am blessed beyond measure!

Daddy's Helper

Cole is VERY much into helping his Daddy when he gets out his tools. Last night he took his play screwdrivers and "helped" take apart the baby bed. Tonight he decided to help him with a leaky sprinkler head. Such a boy...such a Daddy's boy!!!

We had a busy Valentine's Day weekend...fun with friends we haven't seen in a while (except when Cole was telling his friends No No and Mine), a little treat making, and a few smiles from our Ladie's Man :) Nine more weeks until we have another love in our house...so excited to meet her and ready for Cole to meet BeBe...

Even Colder...

So it is freezing once again in Texas...who would have predicted all of this cold weather? Even though it is cold, Cole and I stopped at Sonic on the way home to get Daddy a shake - he has been at home all day with strep throat and we thought it might make him feel better. Cole decided he needed a "nack" = snack, so I got him a shake too. Don't worry he didn't eat it all, only about 5 bites or so. I love the look on his face...but I always love the look on his face!

Spaghetti Night

We don't always have time to sit as a family and eat...I wish we did. I would rather spend time playing with Cole than cooking dinner, so sometimes he gets his dinner early and we eat after he goes to bed. Sometimes we take turns eating with him while the other one does something else - the life of two working parents that want as much time with their little boy as they possibly can.

I know he looks mostly like his Daddy, but I think he might have Mommy "tendencies"...tonight he even ate his bread first and barely had room for the spaghetti :)

So a blog is to remember times in your life - the good and the bad. This is one of the not so good moments. Cole is so flared up from cedar that he has been constantly congested and with a cough for several weeks now. Just when we thought it was clearing up, cedar would spike off the charts again. Poor BABY. I took him to the doctor on Friday and he told me that little kids don't know how to get rid of the "junk" like we do as adults. They don't blow their noses very well, when they cough something up...they don't spit it out (yes I know that is gross, but a reality), so sometimes they just need a little help to break up all of the mucus...so there starts the breathing treatments.

During his doctor's visit, they had us try one and we both cried for about 15 minutes as I did a SAMA Containment on my own child. We were both hysterical and sweating by the end of it. But it helped him so much. Dan and I have been taking turns giving them to him this weekend and now he is a PRO...as long as Toy Story is on, he only lets out a cry when we first put the mask on his little face. He already sounds so much better and we only have one more day to go before we will only use it "as needed".

This whole Parenthood thing is tough sometimes :)

Coolest Kid Ever...

So I am a little bias...but I think I have the coolest kid ever! There are lots of reasons, but tonight it was because he let me use baby hair gel and play with his hair after bath - you can see the chocolate on his face because he found some mini M&Ms in the pantry...oh well. He must get his cool side from his mommy...I'm just sayin'!!!

We decided to have an early Christmas at our house tonight. We are heading to the lake and then spending Christmas Eve at the Gaylord Texan, so Dan and I decided to let Cole open our presents tonight. We just bought him a few things that we thought he might enjoy. When he walked in the door and saw the basketball hoop, he made a mad dash to it - screaming in delight the entire way. It was fun watching him actually enjoy his gifts as we opened them tonight. Another wonderful night with my boys - and my girl - she was kicking all over the place when Cole was playing with his new toys. She moves a lot when she hears Cole...I hope that excitement continues, along with all of these wonderful memories.

Shake That Laffy Taffy

Which one first???

The one thing I have craved since I found out I was pregnant was taffy...I don't know why, but I NEEEEEEED it. One of my wonderful co-workers brought a yard of taffy to me for Christmas...just the sugar high I need for the holidays :) I brought in a box from my car today and forgot that was in it. Cole quickly found the yard of taffy and had fun dumping it all over the living room and then "singing" into the empty tube. He ate a piece of it, but had way more fun playing with the empty tube than actually eating the candy...for now.
